Use Sally with ChatGPT and Claude
Connect your Sally account to an AI assistant and it can add expenses, tell you who owes whom, and record payments — the same ledger you see in the app, updated for everyone in the group.
Things you can ask
Connect it
1. Add Sally as a custom connector
In Claude or ChatGPT, open the settings for connectors (in ChatGPT this may need Developer mode) and add a custom connector named Sally with this URL:
https://mcp.hellosally.app/mcp Any assistant that supports remote MCP servers with OAuth works the same way.
2. Sign in and allow
You'll be sent to hellosally.app to sign in with your email. Sally shows which app is asking — choose Allow only if it's the one you just added.
3. Just ask
The assistant checks your groups and confirms the details with you before it adds, changes, or deletes anything.
What a connected app can do
See your groups, members, expenses, balances, categories, and budgets; add and edit expenses; record payments; and set budgets — all as you, and only in groups you belong to. It can't see your bank connections, change your account, or invite people.
Changes it makes show up in the Sally app for you and everyone in the group, just like changes you make yourself. Assistants can misread a request, so check the summary it shows you after each change.
Disconnect anytime
Remove the connector in your assistant's settings, and revoke its access in Sally for web → Settings → Connected apps.
